Taking this week to honor some of the beauty queens I’ve had the pleasure with which to work. COVID did a number on most of us in some way or another.
Yes…it dead-killed my business, surely. It did the same for small businesses all over the country. Even those businesses NOT so small.
After studying some of my photographs…some thoughts dawned on me.
As jagged as the edges of 2020 have been
As disturbing as the color-shifts can be
As disheartening as the notion of a ‘new normal’ is
Remind yourself, this…
Lean into this new image of the world; embrace it.
There WILL be an end to the storm
And you will find,
The beauty of life…remains.
Lydia Fisher, Miss Bluff City Fair…is an inspiration to many. And, count me in that bunch.
Personally, I’ve not seen someone work so hard, at a…thing! And one gets the feeling…no matter what calamity gets thrown in front of her path…her beauty shines through.
Now, I’m not speaking of her physical beauty which is immense …but the beauty of her heart. Her empathy. Her passion.
It is Lydia who inspired these pieces of shifting colors & perspectives. And helped lead me to the realization…the beauty of life remains.
